Week Nineteen's a One-Shot

That I did in about one sitting, no less. It's a sort of thank you/commission for a friend who helped me out. It's his character, a dragon, getting a hug from his favorite pony, Rainbow Dash.

This was a lot of fun! Everyone needs to hug a pony.

Week Eighteen Is As Done As It Will Be

Her face is still a bit bothersome, but we'll call it good at this point.

I don't know about you guys, but I'm doing some camping this weekend!

Week Eighteen: Getting Close

Her face is a little creepy at the moment, but just trust that it will look much better soon.

Also corrected the tint of her skin since it was rather... orange.

Week Eighteen With a Fancy Umbrella Drink

Today started rough and stressful, so it's impressive that this made it as far as it has since yesterday. Apparently I'll need to look up some tutorials for coloring glass because as I started on the drink I realized that I had no idea how. And yes there will be an umbrella in it. There has to be.

Might even be finished tomorrow!

Week Eighteen Part The Second

Played around more~ The dark skin tone is fun and turning out nice and smooth.

...Yeah that's all I have.

Week Eighteen Starts

And it actually starts on the first day of the week this time, miraculously enough. Somehow I kept busy last week and didn't really let it sink in until Saturday that I truly am out of school until August and there's no homework lingering over my head with threats of bad grades if it isn't finished. Which means I can clean and goof off as much as I want outside of working.

So this week I'm going to do a digital painting again, perhaps more than one, but this one is the ultimate completion goal. It's another Hetalia character, one that a lot of people randomly hate. Since passive-aggressive is my specialty, I decided to draw her to annoy said people. She represents Seychelles and has no human name yet that I know of.

She'll be holding a fancy umbrella drink and I might throw some tropical flowers into the background, or blobs that resemble them in some way.

Week Seventeen Isn't Much

Yes, I did finish a drawing this week but it was all in one sitting. It's a sketch commission for a friend that took a bit to feel motivated for, but once I started I was able to carry it through.

Also, I finished some Sculpey nesting dolls that I started at least a month ago and didn't finish painting until now.  The largest one is about the size of my thumbnail. No, they don't open up but maybe someday I'll figure out how to make some that do!

Week Sixteen Face-Off

And it's finished! Lopsided, but finished.

It's finals week so something simple is totally excusable. Next week should be better.

Week Sixteen: Shady

Okay, so she's not the prettiest woman in the world, but maybe that makes her more interesting. And she might look better with a full head of hair and a smaller nose.

Week Sixteen I Guess

Artist's block dictated practicing facial anatomy and doing some pencil rendering, so here it goes!

Not based off of anyone specific, just rolling with it.

Week Fifteen Ends and I Get Stuck

This was finally finished last night, but to be fair it wasn't started until last Tuesday or so, so it still only took a week.

I realized after beginning to color it that the sword's hilt was completely wrong. It still has issues, but it's better and I reached a point of just needing to be done with this picture.

Rushed finish aside, it turned out pretty decent!

And now I have no idea what to do for Week Sixteen...

Week Fifteen With An Extra

The inking on this was finished during a slow period at work yesterday, but this is the latest version that's been scanned. Since it's Friday and I have no homework (aside from studying; finals week ahoy!) I might start coloring it. Also, here's part of my Printmaking Final, the only project that wasn't a huge pain in the rear:

Week Sixteen Sketchatronic

The perspective on this is turning out to be a much bigger pain than anticipated, but it's probably good for me. With my Figure Drawing studio being over my brain needs something to mess with and frustrate it, after all. His hand will be resting on his sword's handle, but the angle of his arm probably needs to be adjusted so it's on the same visual plane as the foreground rather than all wacky and looking like it's lined up with the back of the chair.

My camera cut off the bottom but you can, in fact, see where the front legs of the chair meet the floor and where his tail is resting on it.

Week Sixteen Start

This week I decided it was time to draw one of my own characters again. It's been a while since one of them last had some spotlight, and if memory serves my character Duke hasn't had any at all this year, poor guy. Actually, I doubt he cares. Look at how characteristically unimpressed he is.
I've re-drawn his face several times and it's still bothering me, so we'll see if I can get it to a point where it looks right. Also, this week's pose is brought to you by this stock photo.
