Week 13 Took Some Sick Days

During the 3-ish years that I lived alone I forgot about the concept of sharing everything with whomever you live with. In this case it's my mother and she shared a cold with me that knocked me flat all weekend. Suffice to say, drawing was not on the schedule between being miserable and sleeping a lot.

It's been a while since I did anything finished of my character Kat, and since I've been redesigning her lately I decided to give it a shot. It will be inked and colored, probably tomorrow. The sad thing is that I started it last Tuesday and didn't touch it until today. Oops.

Week 12: Mission Complete

This would have been finished a lot sooner if my tablet had chosen to behave. Instead it lost pressure sensitivity again, and the only way to make it work is to restart my computer. Sigh. Anyway, these are highly simplified but they're done and look better than my last try.

Week 12.2

This is going a lot more smoothly than I expected, and again I'm ahead of schedule. It feels awesome. At this rate I could be finished by Monday. Gosh Jean is pretty.

Week 12: Re-do and Two for One

Several months ago I did this drawing and... still don't like it. So I thought I would try the cross over idea again, but better and in color. I made one attempt of both characters together doing the Attack On Titan military salute, but it wasn't working. So instead I'm doing two separate action pose drawings of the main characters from Spriggan in the uniforms/gear.

Yes it does turn out that Yu Ominae (Spriggan) looks a lot like Eren Jaeger (Attack on Titan). It's the typical anime hero look.
Interestingly enough, both anime have a character named Jean in them. Jean of Spriggan, however, is a lot more mature and has it together. Of course, he's also an experienced soldier and has a good ten years on the kid in Attack on Titan.

Week 11: Running Low on Subjects

See, there's a bunch of trees in the way and unless I want to draw another one of them there's not much I can see well from the balcony. But I'll be out running around tomorrow so hopefully something else will show up that I can scribble out real quick.

Anyway here's the shed that the maintenance guys use.

I also took the time to sketch some in SAI, actually more of a fully body this time (no pun intended). It's my female version of Castiel from Supernatural. She is unimpressed with something. Probably some demons messing with Dean.

Week 11: Small Things

It was windy and chilly today so I opted to stay in and do some little life studies instead. I grabbed a pine cone from the balcony and one of Mom's candles. Neither one of these are very exciting. Oops.

I'm not sure how many studies I'll do before I consider the week done. Technically Week 11 should have started today anyway. Until I'm tired of them I suppose.

I also did another quick sketch of an Attack on Titan character. I heard some English dub voice clips today and that was pretty darn exciting, so I drew Levi since his voice was among them. It's a beautiful voice.

Week 11: Vroom Vroom

Machines have never been my strong point, including (perhaps especially) cars. I really didn't feel like drawing another tree and my attempts at a woman sitting at the playground watching her son didn't work out. The car was not so mobile and was a lot easier to see.

I don't even know what kinda car this is. But it turned out okay. This also revealed just how many of my markers are drying out. Again.

Week 11 - A Tree and Some Dude

It was gorgeous and warm outside today with a light breeze, so I decided to work and draw out on the apartment balcony today. Since I was out there anyway and felt like drawing on paper, I decided to do a study of one of the trees next to our building. This led me to decided to do various plant and person studies all week, preferably in color.

So here's a twisty tree in Prismacolor markers
And then to keep myself from boredom and because I still had inspiration, I drew a minor character from Attack on Titan whom I love. His name is Mike Zacharius. This little thing took me about 10 minutes in Paint Tool Sai

Tomorrow: Possibly another tree and some playground equipment?

Week 10 Finale

One of my current dreams is to go back in time to when someone somewhere decided that Daylight Savings should be a thing and kick them in the face. Not to stop them from doing it because it used to be relevant, but at least let them know that I disapprove. Then I'd come back to the present and take a long nap, which sounds great right now.

Despite time and space and some people who have been dead for a long all depriving me of an hour of sleep, I managed to finish my sketch today. I threw some depressing colors under it in Paint Tool SAI and I think it works.

One brother has failed another so many times in the past, but even after making a turn-around you still remember and regret.

Also the non-color version because I can't decided which I like more

Week 10: Bring on the Angst

More fan art of Hetalia role play characters, this time some brotherly angst.

...I am way too tired to go into detail right now. Oops.

Week 9 Keeps a Secret

Week 9 was rough. My mind wouldn't settle down and let me start anything until either Friday or Saturday, and by then I was feeling creatively sluggish at best. I reached a peak in wanting to design a crazy detailed outfit with fun patterns and emblems and a brand new character specifically for said outfit and others like it.

But that didn't work.

Instead I decided to be satisfied with simply designing the character and giving her a cuteish but simple outfit to introduce her.

She has no name yet, but I like her. She's a rare plus-size model who mostly works for a specific company that designs attractive clothes for larger women. She also wears wigs most of the time, I haven't decided what color her hair actually is.
