Week 30: Striping Crew Ahead

Not to be confused with a stripping crew.

I thought the stripes would be a pain but they were actually really fun! The only bad part is that my scanner ate the nice color gradient on his hair.

His name is Kane and he contorts/controls fire.

Week 30: Reduction

The detail on his hand might not be as nice as it was, but it's more proportioned now and that makes me happy. Once he's colored he'll be orange wit darker color stripes. His hair might be his stripe color. Seems like a good idea.

Week 30: Dude Your Hand...

I just now scanned this and realized it looks like a bee (or several bees) stung his hand. I'm gonna fix that before it drives me completely up a wall.

Week 29: The Handsome Prince

The short amount of time it took to finish this impresses me. It also impresses me that it turned out about how I wanted. A lot of the time when I try to draw a portrait of a cat, it doesn't work out. Maybe it's because Yoda was such a regal, handsome prince that it turned out so nicely.

I'm going to miss you, Yoda-bear, and I know your mommy does. Make sure you get on bathing Ludwig right away. We all know he hasn't bothered to do it.

Week 29: Increase of Fluff

As I remember him, there is no way I can over-emphasize the amount of fluffy on this cat. His fur was fabulous.

Week 29: Ode to the 'Bear'

Yesterday, before I had any idea what to draw this week, I learned that one of my close friends had to have her very old, very sick, but very sweet kitty Yoda put down. I have a lot of fond memories of that cat and he was loved by all whom he granted the honor of petting him. After learning that 'Yoda-bear' had passed, I decided that I needed to do an artistic tribute to him, as a gift to his "Mommies".

This is just the start but I think it'll turn out nice.

Look at this majestic, fluffy beast:

Week 28 Is Enough

July 12th was one of my close friends' birthday (the day after mine!) so I drew him a little gift of two of our characters hanging out. Mine is obviously Kat, the er... cat. His is Kyle the hyena. He's like her cuddly little brother.

I had plans to do something full color and all for this week, but it didn't work out. This turned out well however, so I decided it would work for this week.

Week 27: Sitting Pretty

This needed to be finished while I still like it, so a quick cel-style shading did the trick. No background either because I'm ready to move on to my next drawing.

On an unrelated but happy note, I turn 27 the 11th!

Week 27: Lady Like

There's a show I've been a fan of for a while but haven't produced any fan art for. The need to do so has been gnawing at me for a few weeks so I finally gave in with my favorite character of Puella Magi Madoka Magica (and that's the short title). Her name is Mami Tomoe and she's sweet and lady like and adorable and I just wanna adopt her and lovingly squish her forever.

The coloring will be digital since I had to fight with the inking so much. Messy, messy.

Week 26

I thought I was finished with this yesterday, but something felt off. As I went to bed last night I realized that I hadn't given him his nice, thick eyebrows. I took about five minutes this morning to do that and fix the bridge of his nose a bit. Much better. I do realize his face is slanted at an odd angle but I'm not going to worry about it.

PS: Here's my loose reference
