Week 21: Not Bad

On Friday I found out I have an easily treatable but annoying infection. Said infection prevents me from consuming any caffeine. At all. Since I'm an avid coffee drinker this is a travesty. I'm also concerned about the effect that the lack of caffeine will have on my creativity, but miraculously I was able to finish this week's drawing early, and finish it well. It turned out nice and I'm pleased with it.

I'm sleepy and wanna snuggle up with them.

Week 21: The Kids Are Alright

...actually no, they're not. Because the writer of Attack on Titan likes to hurt us. I won't give away any spoilers but as I mentioned last time this is one brutal series. But I can dream and draw some of my favorites in sweet situations. So there.

The inking actually didn't turn out bad. Normally my digital inking is cringe-worthy at best.

The guy in the middle is supposed to have facial hair. He looks really weird without it, but I plan to add it during coloring.

Week 21: Fan Art Nap Time

This week I'm doing some comforting fan art for Attack on Titan. Strange considering that this series is very not comforting. In fact it's quite the opposite. The characters seriously need a break so maybe that's why I went with drawing three of them catching nap. I imagine they're waiting for the commander to come out of a meeting.

Week 20: Ventilation

It's tempting to get all philosophical here about life and how it likes to knock you over and kick you when you're down, but I'll resist. Simply put, last weekend brought awful news with it and I used art to cope. This is the result and now I'm ready to get on with my life.

Week 19 By A Hair

Technically I still finished this within 7 days, since I believe I started the sketch last Thursday. Still I should try to start Week 20 tonight since this was barely finished on time. Oops.

On another note, one of my favorite places to be in summer and spring is under a tree. I love the shade patterns that the leaves make, and love seeing the cracks of sky through the leaves and branches when I look up. It's like being under a big leafy comfortable blanket. Having said that, I like how the leaf shadows turned out here.

Week 19.2

After being either unmotivated or busy or both for a few days, I finally had time to make real progress with this. Hopefully the pallet looks nice and summery instead of like highlighter barf. It does make me want strawberry lemonade though, which was what gave me the idea to begin with.

I started the background after saving the progress here, and hopefully I'll finish it by tomorrow night.

Week 19's Good Manners

It's time for another bright, colorful piece and also time for an original character instead of fan art. My still un-named plus-sized clothing model is making a return and being adorable as always. This time I actually plan to make a pattern for her dress and not be lazy when I color her and add the background.

The hat I will fix digitally before I color it. without fail whenever I draw a hat it turns out looking really weird.

Week 18 Is A Rebellious Teenager

...or at least pretty close to one. Every time I sat down to draw, my inspiration told me I wasn't its boss, I couldn't tell it what to do and that it was going out with its friends whether I liked it or not. Yesterday I sat it down and it agreed to behave... for now. As long as it was allowed to create something totally self-indulgent. Since that something happened to be a sketch of a pretty man sleeping, I was agreeable.
