On another note, one of my favorite places to be in summer and spring is under a tree. I love the shade patterns that the leaves make, and love seeing the cracks of sky through the leaves and branches when I look up. It's like being under a big leafy comfortable blanket. Having said that, I like how the leaf shadows turned out here.

Week 19 By A Hair
Technically I still finished this within 7 days, since I believe I started the sketch last Thursday. Still I should try to start Week 20 tonight since this was barely finished on time. Oops.

Week 19's Good Manners
It's time for another bright, colorful piece and also time for an original character instead of fan art. My still un-named plus-sized clothing model is making a return and being adorable as always. This time I actually plan to make a pattern for her dress and not be lazy when I color her and add the background.
The hat I will fix digitally before I color it. without fail whenever I draw a hat it turns out looking really weird.

Week Two: Stripey

While minty green with dark green was a tempting route for the dress, a more subdued color was just a wiser choice. The background will have the greens and some yellow to help balance it. It'll also be similar to last weeks with symmetrical shapes, though not the same ones.
Also, with school having started, it's sketch in class time! Here's a few scribbles from yesterday.

Week Two: Man That's Small...
The gun she's holding is a Vector CP1, because the super-tiny size was an amusing idea to me. In fact, it may still be too large here - the barrels are about 4 inches long. Or were, rather. They were recalled in 2000 for safety reasons. Thanks to my Illustrated Catalog of Handguns for that information. It actually may not even be one that would have a smoking barrel to blow on, but that detail needs to stay because the artist said so.The dress that inspired this one is actually this right here, but while the vertical stripe pattern will be interesting, a different color scheme would be a better idea since the character is herself white.

Dreaming In Color...ish.
How is it that I was better at coloring in the lines when I was ten than I am now? Well, either way, here's the coloring progress. Thank God for Photoshop, but I decided to not apply any touch-ups with it until I'm actually done.
I haven't finished with the shading because I wanted something to do to take breaks from the hundreds (perhaps thousands) of dots I have yet to add. Once again, this is the dress I'm drawing.
I'll probably finish this today because I'm in a bit of a pinch. My car is out of gas and my bank account is out of money, so I can't get to work. So uh... if anyone wants to throw a commission my way? That'd be nice. My next pay day isn't until the 22nd.

Dreaming in Pencil
Last night while goofing around on some vintage clothing websites to find things some of the characters I write would wear, I came across something I wouldn't mind wearing. This one right here .
Now, a lot of dresses on Modcloth are just plain gaudy and awful, and I'd never have an excuse to buy that one, but being an artist means I can not only pretend, but show my imaginings on paper. After this is finished, I'll be totally satisfied. It helps, however, that I don't actually want to buy it to begin with.
Oh, and some scribbles in pen from church...
The lady in black lingerie wasn't supposed to look that skanky, it just happened.
